My friend sent this video to me as a “Friday Pick Me Up” and at first I thought this was just a joke. But after a minute of listening to these talented kids from Minnesota spit some game, I quickly stopped laughing as my jaw hit the floor.
“Hot Cheetos & Takis” by the Y.N.RichKids is an instant summer banger and could possibly be the most innocent rap song I’ve heard in years, which, by the way, makes it EVEN BETTER. The stars of the band are part of an after-school program at the Nellie Stone Johnson Beacons Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This after-school center offers many programs like tumbling, break dance, etc, which has helped the bands like Y.N.Richkids practice and produce hits like “Hot Cheetos & Takis”.
People have already commented that these young stars remind them of (and could someday be) popular artists like Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Drake, etc but I see something different and better in these kids. The pure innocence, youthful energy and fun spirit these kids portray in this video is a breath of fresh air compared to the auto-tuned and studio produced tracks that we hear these days. So if you’re in the mood for a little fun and some inspiration on this Friday, hit play above.Follow @freshmusikk Tweet
