Nova Albion – City Streets (MyKill Remix)
Sep 2013 04

Aight, it’s been a minute, but I’m back with a jam that’ll have you groovin’ in no time. I had the pleasure meeting DJ MyKill last month when he was spinning at Bootie LA, and the man is a total G. Needless to say, he (my)killed it and continues to slay remix after remix. His latest is a funkadelic mix of Nova Albion’s “City Streets” off their aptly named Nature EP. I’m in love with the original version of the song, but MyKill’s remix really takes it to the next level.

Enjoy the city streets!

Live DJ Set: Martin Solveig at XS Nightclub in Las Vegas
Apr 2013 17

Okay, I’ve been lazy. But my one week Vegas-hangover has finally surpassed, so I’ll get this post up. I was fortunate enough to see both Afrojack and Martin Solveig (at Surrender and XS, respectively) while in Las Vegas last week, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the two of them. Solveig’s set particularly impressed me.

His transitions were impeccable, keeping the audience captivated the entire night (and well into the morning). From Missy Elliot to Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Solveig sampled every artist under the sun. My favorite transition was when he worked Boys Noize’s This is What You Want into Oasis’s Wonderwall. Blew my mind. Check out his set from Ultra below, and if this man spins in your city, make sure to get your tickets early.

New Essential Mix: Dirty South
Mar 2013 27

Dirty South gained heightened notoriety from his hit single “City of Dreams” ft. Alesso in summer 2012. Since then, he’s been making big moves in the electronic music scene. Earlier this month he released

his debut album Speed of Life (listen here), and he’s currently performing at the infamous Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

If you aren’t viagra sale attending Ultra, you can still enjoy Dirty South’s Essential Mix, released March 16th. This two-hour set does not disappoint; Dirty South introduces original mixes, lays out a couple new singles, and incorporates samples from some of the greats: Tommy Trash, Deadmau5, Alesso, Pryda, and more.

Listen From Home: Ultra Music Festival
Mar 2013 20

So you didn’t get tickets to this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami? Well neither did I. But take solace in the fact that you can listen to all of Weekend 1’s sets from the comfort of your bedroom (or office, or car, or… you get the point). While it’s not as thrilling as dancing your overworked heart out for a weekend on Miami’s beautiful beaches, you don’t have to miss all the fun. My favorite so far is Knife Party’s set (stream below), but I encourage you to decide which one strikes your fancy. Enjoy 😎

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs Moguai – "Mammoth" (Original Mix)
Mar 2013 13

Dutch DJ sensations Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike

paired up with Moguai of Germany to produce the masterpiece that is “Mammoth.” Gaining notoriety from Tomorrowland 2012’s Official After Movie, “Mammoth” was one of the most anticipated songs of 2013. Since its official release on March 4, 2013, “Mammoth” has sat comfortably at the top of the Beatport Top 100.

Do yourself a favor and listen to this song with a quality pair of headphones or speakers; it’ll be worth it when the beat drops at 1:14.

&quot;Ray Ban Vision:&quot; A-Trak ft. CyHi Da Prynce
Mar 2013 06

Yesterday I treated myself to a new pair of Ray Bans… Okay, my first pair

of Ray Bans. Shortly after I bought them, this gem came on a Spotify radio station (Macklemore Radio, if you were curious). A-Trak’s “Ray Ban Vision” is the perfect pump up song for any occasion that calls for a pair of shades. Unfortunately I woke up to a rainy San Francisco forecast. But who am I kidding? I’m wearing them anyway.

Thanks, Avery!

[Free Download] AC Slater – "Clap Bitches"
Feb 2013 27

It’s tough working for five entire days in a row… it’s even tougher when you wake up and realize that it’s only WEDNESDAY. Well, party ponies, that just means it’s Hump Day and you have exactly three days left until you can get white-boy-wasted with the prospect of sleeping in the entire next day without using one of your coveted sick days.

In honor of Hump Day, I present to you “Clap Bitches” by AC Slater. Obviously this is not Mario Lopez’ new stage name, but it certainly made me feel of “Saved By The Bass.” I hope the heavy bass and wobbles of this song propel you through the rest of your week… but if you can’t

wait that long, you can always start partying tonight.

Tiesto – In the Mix at Big City Beats
Feb 2013 25

It’s Monday, and if your weekend was anything like mine, you’ll need a little pick-me-up to get you to Tuesday. Warning: this new Tiesto set is better

suited for a jog than, say, afternoon nap

material. Enjoy!
