Somebody That I Used To Remix
Apr 2012 02

I cannot stop listening to this. Seriously, ask my roommate.  It’s f*cking amazing. I mean, I love Gotye’s SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW,  but this remix brings it to a whole new level. It’s epicness is untouched. Cannot. Stop. Dancing. And Kimbra? I live & die for her. Hats off, 4FRNT. You rock.

Dead Hearts: Wedding Story
Apr 2012 02

Normally I wouldn’t post something this sappy (or long) on a Monday, but the 15 minutes that it took me to watch and listen to this was worth it. Jason & Victoria Evigan shared their love story with the world this past year (with the help of Lightfield Lewis) and the editing and music content are unreal.

I won’t bore you with all my praise of this wedding video, but you should all take a listen to my favorite soundtracks off this video: Jason Evigan’s (yes he’s the groom) version of “Cinema” and “Dead Hearts” by Stars after the jump.

"Constellations", Jack Johnson & Eddie Vedder
Apr 2012 02

The always humble, and always mellow Jack Johnson took the stage at the Kokua Festival in Hawaii, and gave the fans a treat by having Pearl Jam frontman, Eddie Vedder, hop up on stage with him. The harmonious duo joined forces on “Constellations”, reminding me how much I love JJ, and how much I relied on his soothing music in high school; My admiration for this man and the lifestyle he leads is full of the utmost respect as well as dripping with jealousy. This guy knows how to live life.

“Silenced By The Night”, Alesso Remix
Apr 2012 03

I am no EDM connoisseur, but this could quite possibly be categorized as a progressive house masterpiece. Sebastian Ingroso’s protege, Alesso, finally posted a full preview of his remix for Keane’s “Silenced By The Night”; He successfully bulit the song up and infused it with a healthy dose of electric spirit.

Alesso is simply on fire this year, first with his official release of “Calling (Lose My Mind)” and now giving us this highly anticipated Keane remix – Who would have thought I could like Keane in this day and age?

“Wonderin’ Why”, Aer
Apr 2012 03

Last fall, the Wayland duo released “Wonderin’ Why” as their first single off of their debut album, What You Need, showcasing Carter’s quick spits, and Dave’s smooth flow; The EP reached #1 on the iTunes hip hop chart, a hugely proud moment for the entire #FAM, and the twosome has only continued to grow since then.

Creative Director, Matt Miggz, shot and edited their new music video for “Wonderin’ Why” which was shot in Boston, MA, as you can tell by Dave’s epic, old school sweatshirt; And if you’ve ever been to a show, it should come at no surprise that Carter goes shirtless, so ladies, keep it together.

Hope to see you all at Aer’s show at the Paradise Rock Club, this Saturday in Boston, MA; This will be their biggest hometown headliner yet, and will for sure be a show you don’t want to miss. Get your tickets here!

Some Chillstep To Call It A Day; “Bleed Remix”, Astrio
Apr 2012 03

I love everything about this; The laidback, chill factor swells with just the right amount of intensity to keep this dubstep track impactful without being overbearing. Astrio proves age is just a number by releasing a remix of Deadmau5’s, “Bleed” – and most likely causing your eyes to bug out when you hear the kid’s only 15.

The track will help smooth you out before you call it a day, as the grittiness and uplifting sounds melt together.

“Solidified”, Gramatik ft. Jay Fresh
Apr 2012 04

You can virtually taste the grittiness of this track that’s flooded with crunchiness and intensity.

“Solidified” lives on Gramatik’s new EP, #digitalfreedom, which was recently released through Pretty Lights Music; This specific track features the Texas MC, Jay Fresh, who has previously caught our attention with his undeniable talent of infusing hard hitting dubstep tracks with his quick rapping. My only complaint is that I wish vocals came in earlier, or at least teased us a bit more with the build up – either way, this track goes hard.

All I know about the 1980s is that I was born then, so they must be pretty legit. Get ready for a flashdance flashback of epic proportions when you start groovin’ to Futurecop! Their new album, THE MOVIE, is a pulsating collection of sick electronic dance beats that will have you werkin it out with all of your Gen Y friends. I mean, there is even a song called 1988 Girls (hey, that’s me!), so you best buckle up in your Delorean and get ready for a tubular trip back to the future with Futurecop!
